Woman in Critical Condition After Penobscot County ATV Crash

A 70-year-old Stacyville woman is in critical condition after an ATV crash on Monday morning.

Maine State Police say Joyce Cummings was traveling on Kelly Road at 6:12 a.m. when items began to fall off the back, and the ATV appeared to turn and crash.

Officers say Cummings suffered severe injuries and was flown by LifeFlight to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Police say Cummings was thrown from the ATV and was not wearing a helmet.

The crash remains under investigation.
