Portland Police shot pepper balls during a standoff at a McDonald’s Monday morning.

Police responded to the McDonald’s on St. John Street a little before 11:30 a.m. for a report of a woman in the bathroom allegedly using drugs and requesting medical assistance.

Police say the woman, Erin Baker, 44, told them she had a gun when they arrived, but no weapon was found at the scene.

After about 30 minutes, Baker came out when officers fired pepper ball rounds into the bathroom.

She was taken into custody and charged with creating a police standoff, terrorizing, refusing to submit to arrest or detention, and criminal trespass

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Portland Police.
