Winthrop woman sentenced for crash that injured Litchfield teen

A Winthrop woman who hit another driver while under the influence will spend two years behind bars.

On June 17, 2023 18-year-old Julia Kronstrand was driving home on I-95 when Sarah Lincoln got onto the highway going the wrong way.

Lincoln crashed into Kronstrand leaving her with serious injuries.

CBS 13 reports that on Friday, the 45-year-old Lincoln was sentenced for aggravated assault and aggravated OUI. Her sentence length is 7 years with all but 2 suspended.

Both the victim and the defendant’s parents gave emotional statements in court.

Kronstrand’s mother spoke about the impact that the crash had on her daughter and her father spoke about the medical issues his daughter has been through.
