A 35-year-old Westbrook man will serve more than two years in federal prison on drug trafficking charges after being sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Portland.

Court records show an FBI informant bought cocaine and crack cocaine from Francis Mezan on three separate occasions between July 18 and Sept. 5, 2024 in transactions which were monitored and recorded by investigators.

U.S. District Judge Nancy Torresen sentenced Mezan, also known as “Frenchie,” to 27 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. Mezan pleaded guilty on April 8.

The FBI led the investigation with help from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency and the Portland Police Department.
