Waterville Public Schools and local police are investigating social media posts by a staff member suggesting President Trump and his supporters should be killed.

The Waterville Police Department says it’s aware of the social media post and is working with federal law enforcement and the school to ensure the safety of everyone.

The school district also says it’s taking steps to ensure safety. Superintendent Peter Hallen sent an email to parents, saying they’ve received a high volume of messages and suggested if parents were concerned about safety to contact local law enforcement.

The Waterville High School website lists the staff member as an English teacher.

In one social media post from 12:14 on Tuesday, the employee wrote:

“The Secret Service has the perfect opportunity, if they choose to step up and take it.

You are the ones with power.
Coordinate. Take out every single person who supports Trump’s illegal, immoral, unconstitutional acts. Look at the sycophants and give them what they’re asking for.”
