Super Plunge for Special Olympics Takes Place in Ogunquit

Fifteen people are much warmer now after taking part in a “Super Plunge” in Ogunquit over the weekend.

The fundraiser for Special Olympics Maine required participants to run into the Atlantic Ocean at the top of every hour for 24 hours.

The Super Plunge raised nearly $80,000 when it wrapped up on Sunday morning.

Special Olympics Maine supports 5.000 athletes with intellectual disabilities statewide.

The event was staged by Maine Law Enforcement Torch Run (for Special Olympics at Ogunquit Beach.
