One man was killed and a woman was injured in a shooting outside of a Lewiston tavern early Wednesday morning.
Witnesses reported hearing shots fired outside of the Blue Goose Tavern on Sabattus Street around 1 a.m.
A man who was found suffering from gunshot wounds died after being taken to Central Maine Medical Center.
A woman who was also shot was treated for her injuries and released.
Police say the man responsible for firing the shots is cooperating with the investigation.
An autopsy was underway to determine the male victim’s cause and manner of death.
Police say the shooting was an isolated incident and there’s no threat to the public.
Sabattus Street was closed early Wednesday but was expected to reopen by 7:30 a.m.
