Portland Police Investigating Deaths of Two Homeless Men

Portland Police are investigating the deaths of two men whose bodies were found Monday morning in a wooded area behind the Hannaford store on Riverside Street.

Officers say they were called to the scene of two unconscious men Monday morning at 7:42 and found 57-year-old William Liese and 44-year-old Lee Thomas Johnson dead.

Police say both men are believed to be homeless.

An investigation surrounding their deaths is underway and autopsies are being scheduled with the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.

Officers say no further details will be released at this time.
