Maine’s Attorney General has ruled that officers who shot at an armed man in Harrison in November were justified.

Deputies opened fire on 57-year-old Arthur Lefebvre, who they believed was suicidal and was holding two guns while firing shots at them from a home.

Lefebvre suffered multiple gunshot wounds, but survived.

On Monday, Maine Attorney General Aaron Frey said deputies had reason to believe Lefebvre was going to shoot them or other officers and were justified in the use of force.

Lefebvre was indicted on multiple charges including reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon and creating a police standoff.
