Police identify 84-year-old victim in fatal Bangor fire

A deadly fire in Bangor is under investigation.

Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the sole occupant of the home at 62 Fairways died when the building caught fire around 5:30 Monday morning.

The fire was quickly knocked down by firefighters, who found the victim, tentatively identified as 84-year-old Carla Durgin, dead inside.

Their body was taken to the medical examiner’s office.

Investigators remained at the scene Monday to determine the origin and cause of the fire.
