Pedestrian Dead After Being Hit Twice by Cars in Portland

A 57-year-old man is dead after police say he was hit twice by vehicles in Portland near Forest Avenue and Walton Streets at about 9:15 Sunday night.

Officers say the man was in the road when he was hit by a car driven by a 22-year-old South Portland woman.

They says the driver was attempting to render aid when the man was hit again by a 62-year-old Portland man.

Police say the the victim was taken to Maine Medical Center where he later died from his injuries.

The Portland Police Department and its Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident, and no charges have been filed at this time.
