One person has injuries following a two-vehicle crash on I-295 in Freeport this morning that backed up southbound traffic for two miles at one point.

Troopers say a Toyota rolled over after hitting a Volkswagen while changing lanes, causing the Volkswagen to crash into a guardrail.

The driver of the Toyota was transported by Freeport Rescue to Maine Medical Center in Portland for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Toyota had minor complaints of pain but declined treatment.

State Police say that other than a brief stoppage, traffic was able to get by the scene in a third lane that was a merging lane from the exit 22 on-ramp.

The crash took place just before 7:30 this morning during the peak of drive-time.

Troopers say they were assisted on scene by Freeport PD, Freeport Fire & Rescue, Maine DOT, and Atlantic Coast Towing.
