A Maine man who told police he shot someone at the University of Maine in Bangor a year ago has been arrested.

Bangor police say 48-year-old Zachary Fossett of Dedham was wanted on multiple warrants and was taken into custody Friday on Hildreth Street.

Fossett told police the shooting in a parking lot on the school campus was self-defense, with the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Fossett is being held at Penobscot County Jail and was expected to appear in court Monday to answer to attempted murder and assault charges.
