A 27-year-old Indiana man will spend a month in jail after being convicted of assaulting two teenage women on an airline flight to Portland.

Court records show Aidan J. Carter touched the thigh of a 17-year-old female passenger seated next to him without her consent.

After the 17-year-old victim pushed his hand away, Carter repeatedly reached across the aisle to grab and squeeze the upper thigh of a 16-year-old female passenger whom he awoke from her sleep. Carter reportedly also reached in the direction of the 16-year-old girl’s genitals.

The FBI and the Portland Police Department investigated the case.

Carter pleaded guilty on December 10, 2025 and was sentenced Wednesday on federal court in Portland. In addition to his 30 day jail sentence, Carter will have five years of probation involving strict conditions, including completing a sex offender evaluation and any recommended treatment.
