Bethel native  Frank Del Duca narrowly missed winning a bronze medal in the two-man bobsled competition at the Winter Olympics in Italy on Tuesday.

Del Duca and teammate Joshua Williamson came in fourth, only .44 seconds behind the bronze-winning team from Germany.

This is Del Duca’s second Winter Olympics, after he previously represented Team USA in Beijing in 2022. He finished tied for 13th in those games.

He placed fourth in the 2025 World Bobsled Championships in New York, where he piloted his team to a fourth-place finish in two-man and four-man bobsled events.
Del Duca was one of two American flag bearers for the Opening Ceremonies. He’s an Italian American, with three of his four grandparents hailing from the country where the Olympics are taking place.
He’ll get another shot at a medal this week, when he pilots a four-man bobsled in competition that’ll take place Saturday and Sunday.
Del Duca graduated from Telstar High School in Bethel and the University of Maine
