Maine Man Dead From Accident Aboard Fishing Boat

A 26-year-old Maine man in dead from a mishap on a fishing boat off the coast of Massachusetts.

The Coast Guard confirmed Jaxson Marston died from his injuries after he and another crew member were hit by a snapped rope aboard the vessel “25 to Life” Friday.

Marston reportedly suffered from a broken neck while the other person suffered a concussion and possibly broken ribs and was taken to a Massachusetts hospital.

The boat was reportedly scallop fishing 25 nautical miles east of Nahant when the accident occurred.

State Representative Tiffany Strout of Harrington expressed condolences on her Facebook page.

“Today we awake to learn the sad news of another tragedy affecting the DownEast fishing and surrounding community,” said Stroud. “Jaxson, only 26 years old, a husband, a dad, hard worker, passionate hunter and a friend to many was doing what he had done many times before, just trying to earn an honest living to support his family.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Marston’s pregnant girlfriend, Kameron, and their 1-year-old daughter, Kingsley.
