A 4-year-old Maine boy has died after being pulled from a hotel swimming pool in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

WBTW reports the local coroner said Lauchlin McMann died Monday at Medical University of South Carolina after he was pulled from the pool on April 21st.

McMann and his family had been visiting the area from Palmyra.

Police say he was given CPR by emergency crews at the hotel swimming pool before he died days later at the South Carolina hospital.

During the investigation, an officer looked at security footage that showed the boy and other children playing in the pool.

WBTW reports he began “flailing and sunk under the water,” where he remained for about four minutes before he was pulled out by a hotel employee.

No additional information was immediately available. Police in South Carolina are still investigating
