Injuries in Maine Turnpike Head-On Crash

There are no serious injuries after a wrong way crash on the Maine Turnpike in Falmouth early Sunday

Police say a pregnant woman and her passenger were hit head-on by 30-year Stephan Adams of Windham, who was dangerously traveling northbound in the southbound lane.

The injuries sustained were minor, but the pregnant woman, was evaluated at the scene. As a precautionary measure, Cumberland Fire and Rescue took her and her passenger to Maine Medical Center in Portland.

Adams, who was also injured in the crash, was found to be impaired during the investigation. As a result, he was charged with Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving to Endanger. Adams was taken to Maine Medical Center for further treatment.
