Federal investigators say there’s no evidence that flight controls malfunctioned or failed in the deadly plane crash during a snowstorm at the Bangor airport in January.

Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board said Friday the small passenger plane exploded several times as it struck the ground on Jan. 25 during a major snowstorm.

The plane ended up upside down and on fire.

The board’s initial report doesn’t point to a probable cause for the crash, with a final report possibly taking up to two years.

The NTSB says the plane sat on the runway for too long after a deicing.

The Bombardier Jet has been known to encounter icing issues, which is considered a possible factor in the crash.

The crash killed all six people on board the plane, which was headed for France.
