A former Scarborough police lieutenant accused of falsifying records pleaded not guilty in court on Thursday.
Timothy Barker is facing charges of felony theft by deception, tampering with public records, and official oppression.
Barker is accused of claiming overtime pay for hours he did not work last year.
Prosecutors say he attempted to collect more than $10,000 from the town of Scarborough.
It’s unclear how much money Barker is accused of receiving.
He worked for the police department for more than 30 years.
