Former President Bill Clinton will travel to southern Maine on Friday to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz.

President Clinton will encourage Mainers to make their plans to vote on Tuesday.

The Harris campaign says more details about the stop will be released in the coming days.

Harris expected to win the state District 1, which is heavily Democratic. Former President Donald Trump won the state’s only other congressional district, District 2, in 2020. Maine is one of two states along with Nebraska that splits its electoral votes.

Anecdotally, Trump easily won a student mock elections held Tuesday at nearly 140 schools across the state.

Trump won 52% of the vote, beating Kamala Harris by more than 2,400 votes, according to results posted online by the Secretary of State’s office.

Harris received 41% of the vote, while independent Cornel West received 2%, Green Independent Jill Stein getting 1.9% and Libertarian Chase Oliver getting 1.8%.
