A flash flood watch has been issued for all of Maine and is expected to remain through the night as heavy rain moves through New Hampshire and Maine Sunday.

The Portland Press Herald reports there is also potential for a weak tornado in Cumberland and York counties, but the chances of one occurring will diminish around 3 p.m.

Meteorologists for CBS 13 say the flash flood watch is considered moderate in Western and Southern Maine. The rest of the state is considered to be at slight risk for scattered flash floods.

Watching for areas with poor drainage and parking on areas of higher ground is encouraged.
