Former governor candidate Elliot Cutler has been arrested for a sixth probation violation charge.

Cutler was jailed Thursday afternoon for what his lawyer says was Cutler’s refusal to sign a probation treatment plan with more restrictions than what was ordered by a judge.

Cutler was convicted of child pornography in 2023 and has since been accused of violating probation five times before this latest incident.

His last violation occurred in early February when he was reportedly found in a South Portland hotel with pornographic DVDs.

A search of the Penobscot County jail database shows Cutler was booked into the jail at 2:05 pm Thursday for a probation violation.
