Driver Knocks Down Utility Pole in Raymond

Egypt Road is Raymond was closed for an extended time today because of a power line in the roadway after a crash near Vogal Road.

Deputies say 41-year-old Christopher Teas of Raymond was driving a 2014 Toyota Sienna eastbound on Egypt Road when he lost control, left the roadway and crashed into a CMP utility pole.

They say Teas was treated at the scene for minor injuries, and was ordered to appear in court over the rate of speed, which deputies say was a factor in the crash

Central Maine Power was sent to the scene to replace the pole and restore electricity to the affected area.

Area school districts were notified of the road closure that may have affected local bus routes to be modified.

The crash took place at about 6:40 am.
