A 48-year-old woman faces numerous charges after reportedly crashing into another vehicle while fleeing from deputies in Harpswell Monday Afternoon.
Cumberland County deputies say Karen Pennell, who was wanted on a warrant, originally stopped and spoke to them at Harpswell Island Road and Gurnet Road.
They say that once once she was ordered out of the vehicle, she fled, almost running a deputy over.
Deputies say they canvassed to area for the next hour along with Brunswick Police and located Pennell once again, pulled off on Merritt Road.
They say they tried to box her in but she was able to get around and flee again.
Shortly after, deputies say Pennell failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Harpswell Island Road and Merritt Road and crashed into a Chevrolet pickup truck driven by 56-year-old Robert Phillips of Harpswell.
They say Pennell suffered no injuries in the crash while Phillips suffered minor injuries.
Pennell was arrested on an active warrant and charged with Driving to Endanger, Failure to Stop for Law Enforcement and Violating Conditions of Release.
She was taken to the Cumberland County Jail after being medically cleared at Maine Medical Center.
