Boston Glory ultimate frisbee played host to the Philadelphia Phoenix on Saturday, June 7.

The Glory built on a four-game streak to make a perfect five straight wins opening the season. The Phoenix dropped to 3-4, but the 22-14 box score in favor of Boston didn’t tell the whole story.

Philadelphia ended both the first and second quarters with buzzer-beating goals to keep them within two points of the Glory. By the end of the third quarter, however, Boston answered Philadelphia’s buzzer beaters with one of their own. The Orion Cable grab gave Boston a six-point cushion, which they built upon in the fourth to win by eight.

During the fourth, Philadelphia Phoenix player Justin Keller said, “Down eight, not feeling great, still happy to be out there.”

The two sides had an apparent respect for each other and the game, with Glory fans cheering for the Phoenix at the end of the event, and players from opposing teams congratulating each other throughout the game.

The Glory will visit the Montreal Royal while the Phoenix visit the Pittsburgh Thunderbirds on Saturday, June 14.
