The body of an 82-year-old boater missing for more than a week has been found in the water near Blue Hill.

James Kannry of Virginia and Blue Hill had reportedly gone missing on September 20th when investigators believe he had fallen from his boat into the water.

The Maine Marine Patrol and local law enforcement searched for days using boats, aircraft, and remotely operated underwater vehicles, but were unable to find him.

Then on Tuesday, a 911 caller reported spotting a body in the water near Blue Hill, about five miles from where Kannry disappeared.

Members of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, Maine Marine Patrol, Maine Warden Service and the Blue Hill Fire Department recovered the body, which was then identified to be Kannry.
