Berwick police are identifying the woman who died Friday night after her car hit a utility pole off Route 236.

Officers announced Monday that 37-year-old Jessica Peloquin of Dover, New Hampshire, was the only person in the vehicle at the time and died in the crash.

Police say they were called to the scene shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday near the New Dam Road intersection.

They say they found a 2008 Acura sedan that apparently went off the road and struck a utility pole.

Investigators say they believe speed was a contributing factor.

The road was closed for more than five hours after the crash, which remains under investigation.
