Bangor Man Accused of Knocking Woman Unconscious in Domestic Assault

A 38-year-old man faces domestic assault charges after Bangor Police were sent to a call of a fight at a residence on Sunday morning.

Officers say a woman who was taken to a hospital with injuries told them beforehand that Axel-Rodney Brooks assaulted her, knocked her unconscious, and choked her.

They say a friend of the victim accused Brooks of threatening to assault her as well if she called police, before he left in a vehicle.

Officers say they located and arrested Brooks.

He was taken to Penobscot County Jail, charged with the following:
Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault, Class B
Domestic Violence Criminal Threatening, Class D
Criminal Threatening, Class D
