One person is dead and another hurt in an ATV crash in the town of Corinth.

The accident occurred Saturday night around 9:55, when the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a serious ATV crash on Beech Grove Road.

Upon arrival responders found two indivduals ejected from that ATV.

One of those people was pronounced deceased at the scene with the other occupant sustaining serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Early on on their investigation, deputies believe the ATV was traveling on a main road and not on a designated trail, when it left the pavement and overturned.

Deputies also believe speed and alcohol to be factors in the crash.
