An Alabama man plead not guilty in court yesterday after allegedly making bomb threats towards employees at the Bangor International Airport.

The Bangor Daily News reports that 24-year-old Robert Wicks allegedly sent a total of 107 messages to 2 American Airlines employees at the airport on February 13th, saying he had “guns and shit” and planned to “definitely do a bomb (bomb emoji) threat”. He added in a phone call to the airport that there were also timers on the bombs.

Wicks, under the pseudonym of Trey Live, was in a long-distance relationship with one of the employees at the airline, with authorities tracking him through TikTok.

In a phone call with the FBI, Wicks said he made the calls “as a prank” for the social media platform Discord.

Wicks was arrested back in May and was sent to Texas for a competency evaluation earlier this month.

If convicted of his felony charges, he faces a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
