Co-op Vol. 2 Official Rules

Visit 989WCLZ.com beginning 12:01am Monday 2/3/20 through 2/23/20 at 11:59pm. Contestants must submit a photograph of themselves, or the band in which they are a member, along with a recording of an original song, to be one of four grand-prize winners. Grand-prize consists of a session at the Maine Music Mill, a recording studio in Brunswick, ME, to have your song professionally recorded and mixed. The four winners’ songs will each be featured on a CD called “Co-op Vol. 2. One entry per person. Entrant must be 18 years or over, and sign a release stating that “I certify that I am the lawful owner and producer/photographer of the submitted photograph and song. No one else has or can claim legal rights to the photo or song. I understand that any misrepresentation of my ownership of the attached photograph, or my legal guardianship of the Minor in the attached photograph (if any), will be grounds for disqualification of the contest and potentially all future contests or promotions with Portland Radio Group. I agree to indemnify Portland Radio Group for any cause of action, including invasion of privacy/copyright claims that arise out of this entry or post”. Furthermore, if the submission is on behalf of a band, the entrant will be required to sign additional documentation verifying authorization to submit on behalf of the band and waive all privacy/copyrights on behalf of the band in relation to the submission. Entrant may be required to provided contact information for additional band members. Failure to provide accurate information may result in disqualification. One entry per person. If an entry includes a song whose copyright is owned by a band, the band shall constitute a person for the purpose of this contest.

 

On approximately 2/24/2020, the four judges (WCLZ Brand Manager, WCLZ Music Director, Owner of Maine Music Mill, and the host of Music from 207) will listen to and decide in their sole discretion the top four submissions. Judging criteria will be based on musicianship, vocal ability, songwriting talent, originality, and creativity. Each of the four winners will be contacted no later than 2/28/2020. The winners will work with the Maine Music Mill to schedule a recording session.

 

To enter, you must be 18 or older and a Maine resident. One entry per person. WCLZ’s sole responsibility is to award studio session and put the song on a CD. Therefore, WCLZ will have no further responsibility if the winner does not use the studio session. Approximate value of the total grand prize if $500.00.

 

 

The WCLZ Co-op Vol. 2 contest is open to all eligible Maine residents 18 or over and those who have not won any prize valued at or over, or cumulative prizes valued at or over $600 on 98.9 WCLZ in the past 6 months. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.  Employees of 98.9 WCLZ at the Portland Radio Group, and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one-hundred-mile radius of the 98.9 WCLZ main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian. No purchase necessary. Prizes are not transferrable or redeemable for cash. Winners will be responsible for all state and local taxes.
