The Natural Resources Council of Maine was founded in 1959, by a handful of Mainers who got together to protect the Allagash River and won federal designation of the spectacular Allagash Wilderness Waterway. Since then, climate change – a huge threat to Maine’s woods, waters, and wildlife – has become a central focus of their work. You can support climate action in Maine by joining them on Sunday, January 4th for their 18th annual Polar Bear Dip & Dash at Southern Maine Community College. The 5K starts at 9 and the plunge at Willard Beach takes place at 10:30.
