Design our 2022 ‘CLZ-Shirt!

Calling all Maine artists- we’re back at it again! We need your help to design this year’s ‘CLZ Shirt! Use the 98.9 FM WCLZ logo below as your starting point, and then take the design wherever you want it to go.

We’ll choose our favorite design to be featured as the official 2022 ‘CLZ Shirt design! In addition, the winning designer will win $500 of art supplies to the store of their choosing, and apparel with their winning design to share with friends and family!

Once we select the winner, you’ll be able to purchase the limited-edition design all throughout the summer- on t-shirts, sweatshirts, tanks and totes!

The ideal size dimensions for t-shirt production are 4200 x 4800 pixels (with a minimum of 2000 x 2000 pixels). While you won’t be able to load a file that big into the contest submission form, we recommend creating the original file to that scale, and then saving it as a smaller JPG or PNG to enter with. This way if your design is chosen, we can have access to the larger file! The size limit for your uploaded image is 10 MB, or roughly 1500 x 1500 pixels.

You must use one of the logos below to start your design:

PNG File (right click on image & Save Image As to download):

PDF File (click on link to download & then click the save icon): 98.9 WCLZ LOGO PDF

Then submit your design below!

Starting April 18th, 2022 at 12:01 am through May 15th, 2022 @ 11:59 pm, 98.9 WCLZ will be collecting entries for its “CLZ  Shirt” contest. Entrants will use the provided 98.9 WCLZ logo on the contest page on 989wclz.com, to create an original design to be featured on limited edition 98.9 WCLZ t-shit. The provided logo must not be modified, but incorporated into the submitted design as a main component. Designs can be saved in JPG, JPEG, PNG, or PDF format. Entrants will submit their design on 989wclz.com. Any submitted designs without the provided 98.9 WCLZ logo will be disqualified.

Upon the completion of the promotion, the 98.9 WCLZ Program Director and Promotions Director will decide in their sole discretion, the winning design of the ‘CLZ Shirt contest. Judging criteria will be based on the most creative representation of the 98.9 WCLZ brand. On May 16th, 2022, the chosen winner will be notified by phone and email. The winner will receive a $500 cash prize, 5 items of their choosing from the “CLZ Swag Store” (with the winning logo), along with their design featured as the official CLZ’  Shirt.

Upon signing release the release form at the 98.9 WCLZ Studio (or by e-mail), 420 Western Avenue in South Portland, Maine, during normal business hours (Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm), the winners will receive their prize.

By entering the ‘CLZ Summer Shirt contest, you retain the rights to your works while granting Portland Radio Group the unrestricted, royalty-free, perpetual right to use, reproduce, communicate, modify and display the works (in whole or in part) for any purpose without any fee or other form of compensation, and without further notification or permission.

Creative images submitted must be owned by the person submitting the entry. No one else may have, or can claim, legal rights to the image. If there is a “minor” (a child or person under the age of 18) in this image, the entrant must certify that he or she is the parent or legal guardian of the minor (child or children) in the image. Any misrepresentation of ownership of the submitted image, or legal guardianship of the minor in the submitted image (if any), will be grounds for disqualification of the contest and potentially all future contests

All 98.9 WCLZ contests are open to all eligible Maine residents who live or work within 75 miles of our transmitter 16 or older and have not won anything on 98.9 WCLZ in the past 30 days or any prize valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. Only one winner per household is permitted within 30 days after a household has a winner. Any prize awarded to an ineligible listener will be deemed null and void, and an alternate eligible winner may be named.

Employees of 98.9 WCLZ, Portland Radio Group and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass communication within a one hundred mile radius of the 98.9 WCLZ main studio are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse, great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current legal guardian.

No purchase necessary. 98.9 WCLZ’s sole responsibility will be to award the prize. 98.9 WCLZ will have no further responsibility in connection with the prize if the prize winner, for any reason, cannot or decides not to use any of the prizes. Winners will be responsible for all federal and state taxes, and any fees and incidentals.

Full contest rules available at 98.9 WCLZ studios located at 420 Western Avenue between the hours of 9am and 5pm; or by logging onto 989WCLZ.com.
