Carbon Neutral

Carbon Neutral

‘CLZ is proud to be Maine’s first carbon neutral radio station!

We’ve evaluated our total energy use including:

  •  The cost of transmitting our signal
  •  Office and studio lights
  •  Heating and cooling
  •  Producing promotional items like CDs, re-usable totes and aluminum water bottles

And determined that we’re emitting just under 200 tons of CO2

To achieve our carbon neutral goal we’ve partnered with

Reverb and Atlantic Records to purchase carbon offsets.

We’re really excited about this year’s project that helps schools create renewable energy while providing a full-scale, learning lab for students and faculty!

Schools in Indiana facing budget cuts recently under went a similar project to help offset their costs, today with the help of purchased carbon off sets, they have three turbines generating power throughout Indiana that will cut 4,800 metric tons of greenhouse gases per year!
