Why radio?
When I was little, I used to carry a little tape recorder around and record myself talking into it. I talk way too much – just ask my long-suffering family! Where better than behind a microphone?

What would people be most surprised to learn about you?
That I once bought an old Airstream trailer and traveled around the US for three months producing radio news stories with only my dog Parker for company.

Who is the coolest person you know?
My grandma. She used to drive race cars, taught me to cook, and is generally awesome!

What is your favorite album?
I could listen to Chemical City by Sam Roberts for days on end. I also really love Tom Waits’ album Nighthawks at the Diner.

Music people would be surprised you love?
Jay-Z. Seriously. I think his lyrics are really smart and I like how he works in social/political commentary.

Best advice you have ever gotten?
One of my favorite radio hosts told me at the start of my career, “You don’t have to agree with everyone you meet, but you do have to respect them.” It’s just so wise and applies to all areas of life.

What is your favorite thing about Maine?
Cobblestone streets in the Old Port. I grew up on the edge of the Old Port, right downtown, and I associate it with lots of happy childhood wanderings! Now I run down there and pretend I’m an adventure racer. Those stones are NOT even.

What is the last book you read?
I just finished reading Running for Women by Kara Goucher.

What is your secret talent?
I love to do impressions of people’s voices and imitate accents.

TV shows you can’t miss?
New Girl, Modern Family, Parks & Recreation, and The League crack me up.
