Guster's Adam Gardner testifies before Congress


On Tuesday, May 8, 2012, Reverb Founder and Co-Director Adam Gardner joined a senior Bush administration official and forest products industry executives to testify at a congressional hearing in opposition to proposed bills to weaken the Lacey Act. The Lacey Act bars import and trade of illegally logged wood and the illegal trade in wildlife. Learn more about the issue here.

'Toast To Freedom' pays tribute to Amnesty International


Amnesty International has released "Toast To Freedom," a new and exclusive commemorative song dedicated to human rights activism around the world and performed by nearly 50 artists, including Levon Helm, Kris Kristofferson, Carly Simon, Angelique Kidjo, Ewan McGregor, Donald Fagen, Warren Haynes, Keb Mo, Eric Burdon, Taj Mahal, Marianne Faithfull, Rosanne Cash, Shawn Mullins, the Blind Boys of Alabama, among others. The basic tracks were recorded at the legendary Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, N.Y, affectionately known as "the Barn". Here's a performance of the song on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno

Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Timberlake, Eddie Vedder and many other artists will appear on the new comedy album from Jimmy Fallon called Blow Your Pants Off. The collection, due out June 12th, features the parody songs from Late Night With Jimmy Fallon as well as new original music. Dave Matthews might be on it, as well. The two notes that begin Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" are worth a fortune. He sampled the notes from "Saville," a 1967 track by Brazilian samba guitarist Luis Bonfa and the royalty arrangement could net Bonfa's estate at least $300,000. Read the story and check out the notes sampled here
