Pearl Jam rock out at epic hometown gig, wrapping up U.S. tour

Veteran rockers Pearl Jam treated fans in Seattle, Washington to a three-hour concert marathon on Friday as they played their first hometown show in four years.

The stars returned to the city to wrap up the North American leg of their Lightning Bolt tour, and they made sure they went out with a bang by rocking through the night.

Frontman Eddie Vedder kicked off the gig with “Pendulum” and rolled out renditions of hits including “Corduroy,” “Better Man,” “Alive” and “Daughter,” while he also performed a solo cover of Velvet Underground’s “After Hours” as a tribute to late frontman Lou Reed, reports RollingStone.

They closed the mega-gig with an all-star cover of MC5 hit “Kick Out The Jams,” accompanied by fellow Seattle musicians Kim Thayil from Soundgarden, and Steve Turner and Mark Arm from supporting act Mudhoney, before bowing out with “Yellow Ledbetter.”

Pearl Jam will next head Down Under for a tour of Australia and New Zealand in January.
