Jack White walks off stage, throws first pitch in Detroit

Jack White promised the crowd his performance Monday at Detroit’s Fox Theatre would be the first and last such show at the venue.

The Detroit-born rocker reportedly became increasingly frustrated with the crowd’s lack of rock ‘n’ roll attitude and calm demeanor, eventually walking off stage after only about 30 minutes. The Detroit Free Press reported that White eventually returned to stage, where he finished the show in triumphant fashion.

Monday’s performance was followed on Tuesday by a melancholy-looking White throwing out the first pitch at the Tigers game. He threw the ball to Santa Claus, as part of the team’s Christmas in July festivities.
